Together with Sam from “SPD Tuition and Coaching”, I will be hosting a series of 3 sessions for parents with children starting school in September.

These sessions benefit all children. Our specialist knowledge and experience allows us to support children of all needs, skills and abilities.

The sessions each contain original content. Book all sessions individually for £35 or book all 3 sessions for £90.

These interactive sessions are for children aged 0-4 and their grown ups. The sessions include a story, singing and other activities that support communication development. The sessions are inclusive for all to attend, regardless of whether you are concerned about their speech, language and communication development.

You are a parent/carer or a professional who wants to learn more about what makes a good quality interaction and why this is important for supporting communication development.

How this session will help:

This session gives an introduction to the importance in good quality interactions in supporting communication development. It’s really practical and will give you the opportunity to reflect on the wonderful things you already do to support children’s speech, language and communication development, and create an action plan for what you might try next.

An online assessment* to identify whether your child has any Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). You will receive verbal and written feedback about:

• Any needs they have

• The possible impact this might have on them at home and in their childcare setting

• How you and others involved in their care can help (these suggestions are tailored to be relevant to your family)

• Recommendations for any further assessment or onward referrals to other professionals

Assessment information is gathered through discussion with you. You will be asked specific questions about your child’s development and current communication skills. Your child can be observed via video call or you can send a video of them playing with you** (whatever you feel suits your family better).

This is a one-off, stand-alone session. It is particularly designed for parents who feel unsure about whether their child has any SLCN or those who want some ideas about how they can support their child while they wait for an appointment with their NHS Speech and Language Therapy Team.

** All information, including videos, is stored securely and will only be used for assessment purposes. Videos will be deleted when the assessment is complete.
